Gardaí from the Mayo Roads Policing continue to carry out checkpoints in conjunction with the current Roads Policing Christmas Safety Campaign.

While in the Claremorris area Gardaí observed a child with no seat belt on in the rear of the car. After speaking with the driver and a check on the Garda Mobility App it became clear that the driver was serving a disqualification from driving.

Also at the same location another vehicle was stopped and it had no insurance. Both vehicles were impounded and both drivers will now face the prospect of a court date.
