A vehicle caught the attention of the Mayo Roads Policing Unit of An Garda Siochana for the wrong reasons.

Last night they stopped a car in Ballyhaunis with a list of offenses:

  • No driving lights switch on during hours of darkness
  • Driver sitting on the seat belt
  • NCT expired over a year
  • Driver had no insurance

Consequence: The vehicle was seized and court proceedings will follow.

An Garda Siochana remind everyone: "Wear your seatbelt. Its the law"

You should wear your seat belt at all times no matter how long or short the journey is.

A collision can happen in a spilt second and even hard braking can cause serious injury to you if you're not wearing your seatbelt.
