Mayo woman pleads guilty to assaulting two gardaí in station

Sentencing in the case will take place at Castlebar Courthouse next week.

A Mayo woman is to be sentenced next week for assaulting two gardaí at Claremorris Garda Station three years ago.

Rosemary Sweeney (42), with an address at Bridge Street in Ballinrobe, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault causing harm to two gardaí at the station on June 30, 2022.

She will be sentenced at Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court on July 16.

Judge Eoin Garavan remanded her in continuing custody and ordered the preparation of a prison governor’s report.
