Pictured at the presentation were Matthew, Anna and Olive Gilligan, Lorraine Dolan (Gilligan’s Bar), Martina Jennings (Mayo Roscommon Hospice) and Paul Maher.
THE tremendous support for various fund-raising ventures undertaken by the team at Gilligan’s Bar, The Square, Claremorris, was reflected with the presentation of a cheque for an incredible €25,220 to Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
Chief among the ventures was the Croagh Patrick Emergency Services Climb in memory of Martin Gilligan who died on December 6, 2024, and who had been involved with the Fire Service and various other groups.
The climb received huge support on June 7 when members of The Irish Air Corps, An Garda Síochána, Mayo Fire Service, Search and Rescue teams, paramedics, nurses, family and friends climbed the Reek together in honour of Martin.

Lorraine and the team also organised a Table Quiz Night and a Coffee Morning in the bar in support of the Hospice.
Martina Jennings, CEO of Mayo Roscommon, lauded the efforts of Gilligan’s Bar and all who supported the ventures. “This phenomenal amount will go directly towards providing vital palliative care services across Mayo and Roscommon.
“To Olive, Lorraine, Paul, the Gilligan family, everyone at the bar, and all who took part, thank you. Your support means the world to us and to the families we serve every day. What a powerful display of community, generosity, and remembrance.”
