The incident occured on the R331 at Friarsquarter East, just outside Ballinrobe
Mayo Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal motorcycling accident in Ballinrobe yesterday (Tuesday, June 17).
At around 7.40 pm, the Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single-vehicle collision involving the motorbike at Friarsquarter East on the R331.

The rider of the motorbike, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s body was taken to Mayo University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The R332 was closed at the time for a technical examination, but has since reopened.
An Garda Síochána are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have any information, or anyone in possession of dash-cam footage, to contact Claremorris Garda Station (094 937 2080) or the Garda Confidential Line (1800 666 111).
