The Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, has announced a varied programme of events for the month of April, featuring workshops, live music, film, literature and cultural initiatives.
A new addition to the venue’s summer schedule is the Kids Robotic Creativity Club, which begins on April 13. Aimed at children aged 6–8 and 9–14, the workshop introduces participants to coding, robotics and 3D design, with a focus on developing creative and critical thinking skills. Sessions will run weekly on Mondays throughout April, May and June, with booking available for individual classes or a four-week block.
In music, the Kammer Philharmonie will perform at the venue on April 25 as part of its 2026 tour, Powerful Emotions. The ensemble, which features musicians from across Europe, will be joined by trumpet soloist Cyrill Gussaroff. The group regularly performs in international concert halls and opera houses.
The Linenhall Film Club will host a screening of 'It Was Just an Accident' on April 21. The film follows a man who becomes convinced that a mechanic he encounters is responsible for his torture in an Iranian prison, leading to a series of events involving questions of identity and justice.

On April 23, the venue will present 'An Evening with Kim Rosen.' The poet and spoken word performer will deliver a programme titled 'Being Human: A Communion in Poetry and Music', combining readings with musical elements.
The Linenhall is also continuing its dementia-friendly Azure Tours, which offer guided visits to gallery exhibitions for people living with dementia, along with their families, friends or carers. The tours, led by visual artist Joanna Hopkins, last approximately 50 minutes and include a social element afterwards. The next tour is scheduled for April 23, with booking required due to limited capacity.
