London Mayo Rose, Shauna Sammon, who is originally from Westport, is set to perform the national anthem ahead of Mayo's Connacht Championship quarter-final against London.

Mayo will take on London on Saturday, April 11, at 2:30 pm in McGovern Park, Ruislip.

Shauna Sammon previously represented London at the Rose of Tralee in 2025.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s game in McGovern Park, she expressed her excitement at the opportunity.

“Being a Mayo woman, paired with the fact that I’m the London Rose of Tralee, the County Secretary of London thought it would be quite fitting to ask me to sing on Saturday, so it’s a lovely honour,” she told The Mayo News.

“I’m really excited. There’s a big hype in Westport and Mayo about the game. It’s lovely, and it will be great to have everyone back over to London and to Russlip,” she added.

Portwest recently announced its sponsorship of Mayo GAA, alongside Ireland West Airport and Midwest Radio, ahead of the highly anticipated.

The celebrations will begin on Friday, April 10, at Ireland West Airport as Mayo fans depart for London.Portwest will be on the ground with giveaways and a spin-the-wheel game.
