A leading Mayo solicitors’ practice has announced the appointment of a new partner, marking another milestone in the continued growth of the firm.
JV Geary Solicitors LLP, located on Linenhall Street, has confirmed that Patricia Lally has been promoted to Partner, joining Managing Partner John Geary and fellow Partner Ita Feeney in leading the firm into its next phase of development.
Ms Lally has been with the firm since 2014 and has built a strong reputation among clients for her practical, results-driven approach to legal problems. Prior to joining the Castlebar practice, she trained and worked in firms in Cork and Galway, gaining wide-ranging experience in litigation and dispute resolution.
John Geary said the decision to appoint Patricia to partnership reflected both her professional excellence and her long-standing commitment to the firm and its clients.
“Patricia is an outstanding solicitor who has played a huge role in the success and reputation of this practice over many years,” he said. “She brings sound judgment, strong advocacy and a calm, solutions-focused approach to even the most complex cases. Her appointment is thoroughly deserved, and I am delighted to be welcoming her as a partner.”
Ms Lally represents clients in courts at all levels and has particular experience in complex civil litigation, including contract disputes, land law matters and judicial review proceedings. She also advises extensively in personal injury claims, including road traffic accidents, workplace injuries, fatal accident claims and medical negligence actions.
In addition to litigation, she works closely with a wide range of business clients, advising on commercial leasing, commercial lending and contractual matters. She is frequently instructed by companies and property owners who require clear, strategic advice in managing legal risk and resolving disputes in a commercially sensible manner.

Family law is another significant part of her practice, and she regularly advises clients in separation and divorce proceedings, including cases involving children, maintenance and property issues. Clients value her ability to combine firm legal representation with a sensitive and supportive approach during what are often highly stressful personal situations.
A native of Tourmakeady, Ms Lally attended Coláiste Muire locally before studying law at NUI Galway. She later qualified as a solicitor and has built her career serving clients across Mayo and the wider western region.
Speaking about her appointment, Patricia said she was honoured to join the partnership and looked forward to continuing her work with clients throughout the county.
“JV Geary Solicitors LLP is a firm with strong values and a genuine commitment to client service,” she said. “I am very proud to be joining John and Ita as a partner and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued growth and development in the years ahead.”
Founded by John Geary in 2010 after returning to Mayo following a legal career in Dublin, the firm has expanded steadily and now operates as a multi-partner practice offering services across personal injury, property, litigation, employment law, family law, probate and commercial matters.
The latest partnership appointment reflects increasing demand for legal services in the region and the firm’s ongoing investment in building an experienced and diverse legal team capable of serving both private and commercial clients.
JV Geary Solicitors LLP is a seven-solicitor practice with support staff. Further information is available at www.jvgeary.ie.
