A Christmas Jumper Fun Run, in aid of Focus Ireland and St Vincent de Paul Castlebar, is set to take place this Sunday, December 14 at 12 noon. The event is organised by food influencer and cookbook author Sarah Butler, together with sponsor Barry Ralph of House of Plates and his wife Helen.
The Jumper Run invites supporters to don their most festive Christmas jumpers or full Christmas outfits, join the run or walk, and donate. All proceeds will go towards supporting Focus Ireland and SVP, helping families and children who are facing homelessness or hardship, providing shelter, stability, and hope this Christmas season.
Event organiser, influencer Sarah Butler, said she was honoured to support Focus Ireland and SVP with the Christmas Jumper Run.
“I love this time of year and want to do what I can to help those who need it most this season. It is heartbreaking that 5,274 children will spend Christmas in emergency accommodation across Ireland.
“By joining the Christmas Jumper Run, we can help ensure families feel warmth, safety, and a touch of festive sparkle this holiday season.”
Local business owner and event sponsor Barry Ralph of House of Plates added: “Our family are delighted to take part in this year’s Christmas Jumper Run. We believe everyone deserves a home and a safe place to call their own. We hope our contribution encourages others to join in and show what community kindness can look like at Christmas.”
Donations can be made through the Christmas Jumper Run page on iDonate.
