Mayo Hospice set to host coffee morning as part of Palliative Care Week.
Mayo Hospice is set to host Coffee Connect as part of Palliative Care Week on Monday, September 8, from 10am to 12 noon. The event at the hospice building in Castlebar is an opportunity for attendees to to speak with staff members from various disciplines and gain understanding of hospice care. The event is also an opportunity to connect with the local community and raise awareness of the vital role of palliative care in helping live as fully and comfortably as possible.
This year’s Palliative Care Week campaign runs from September 7 to 13 with this year's theme being “Living for Today, Planning for Tomorrow.” The campaign highlights the impact of palliative care and the impact it can have on patients as well as families.
Mayo Hospice as a palliative care service, is in place to improve the quality of life at any stage of a life-limiting illness. The service can also be a support to the families of those in palliative care.
