Mayo University Hospital recorded a drop in the latest Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation 'Trolley Watch' figures.
There has been a significant reduction in overcrowding in Mayo University Hospital in the last 24 hours, with the latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) painting a healthier picture for today (Friday, August 29).
Yesterday, the Castlebar facility was near the top of the charts nationwide, with the second-highest number of people waiting to be seen outside of the Emergency Department.
In total, 24 patients were recorded in the 'Trolley Watch' figures, with eight in the Emergency Department and 16 people in the ward elsewhere.
On Wednesday, MUH issued a statement advising of significant wait times for those presenting to the hospital's ED, and revealed that 350 patients had passed through the doors and 100 people were receiving treatment.
Today, the situation in the hospital looks a lot brighter, with eleven people waiting for beds. Of the eleven total, three people are in the Emergency Department, while a total of eight patients are elsewhere in the ward.
