Minister of State Alan Dillon has welcomed a planning application submitted by Alliance Medical Diagnostic Imaging Ltd.
Minister of State Alan Dillon has welcomed a planning application submitted by Alliance Medical Diagnostic Imaging Ltd to Mayo County Council for a new diagnostic imaging centre at Barcastle Retail Park, Castlebar.
The proposed centre will offer MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and X-Ray services, giving people in Mayo better access to vital diagnostic scans. Right now, most patients depend on Mayo University Hospital, where waiting times can be long and appointments hard to come by.
“This is great news for Castlebar and the wider Mayo community,” said Minister Dillon. “Having a dedicated imaging centre will help ease pressure on the hospital, cut down waiting times, and make sure people get the care they need faster. I’m fully behind this project and want to thank Alliance Medical and Helen Calvey for their commitment to improving healthcare in the region.”
The Minister said he will continue to support the initiative and looks forward to seeing it progress through the planning process.
