Mayo County Council have moved to advise motorists of a road closure in place today (Thursday, July 10).

In the statement released on social media, the Council confirmed that a portion of the L-5750 around Ballyheane is due to be closed from 9 am to 4.30 pm in order to allow for vital road works to take place.

The Council have also warned of ‘long delays’ for road users in the area. Local access will be permitted; however, delays are to be anticipated for those availing of local access also.

Diversions will be signposted, with the L-5751 Carrowclogher road remaining fully operational. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated where necessary.
