The car park in Mayo University Hospital made a six-figure sum in fees in 2024
Over €160,000 in car parking fees were paid by people attending Mayo University Hospital in 2024.
The recently released numbers have also revealed that over €45,000 has been paid in parking fees at the Castlebar facility so far this year.

The figures, obtained by Labour TD for Kildare, Mark Wall, from Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll-MacNeill, show the breakdown of parking fees received in every parking facility in the country.
Last year, the car parks in MUH brought in €166,100.15 in parking fees.
The first six months of 2024 indicate that the parking facility is in line for a reduction in that 2024 sum, with €45,415.85 accrued in the first half of 2025.
Fees to park at Mayo University Hospital are €2 for the first three hours, €1 per hour thereafter, and a daily charge of €5 thereafter. Weekly tickets are also available to purchase for €15.
