Mayo Sports Partnership recently celebrated a series of outstanding achievements, highlighting the power of collaboration in driving community health and inclusion. At their latest committee meeting, Board and Staff gathered to mark the Partnership’s recognition as Local Sports Partnership of the Year, awarded for delivering measurable health outcomes, fostering community engagement, and strengthening the connection between sport and healthcare through a preventative, community-based approach.
The celebration continued with national recognition at the inaugural National Xcessible Awards, where Mayo Sports Partnership was the only LSP in the country to receive both bronze and silver accolades, along with a special recognition award for its commitment to inclusive and accessible environments.

These awards reflect the success of initiatives like Better Balance, delivered in collaboration with the HSE Mayo Primary Care Physiotherapy Department and the HSE Health and Wellbeing Division across Mayo, Galway, and Roscommon.
Charlie Lambert, Head of Mayo Sports Partnership, shared:
“I am delighted for everyone involved, Mayo Sports Partnership staff, the committee, our partners, everyone in Mayo County Council’s community section, and of course all the participants. I’d like to thank all of them for their work on this project. It wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration between all involved.”
