Delays expected as Mayo County Council announces roadworks

Mayo County Council have announced that the L1706 between Doonamona and CastleLucas is undergoing roadworks, which are expected to cause delays to traffic in the area.

In a statement from the Council, it has been revealed that the circa 1.6-kilometre-long stretch of local road, which is situated between Castlebar and Claremorris, will be subject to road surfacing works between 9am and 4.30pm both today (Monday, June 9) and tomorrow.

The Council has stated that traffic management is in place for the duration of the works. However, delays are to be expected, with accommodation available for emergency vehicles which need to use the route.
