The long wait is nearly over for Mayo Minister of State, Alan Dillon TD.
It is expected that Alan Dillon TD will be officially given legal powers in his role as Minister of State for Small Business and Retail and Circular Economy next week.
The Mayo News understands it was agreed at a Cabinet meeting this morning that the Mayo TD will be given the powers more than one hundred days after taking office as a Minister of State.

The Mayo News has contacted the Minister of State's office and is awaiting a statement.
The Fine Gael Minister of State had previously told The Mayo News that in the absence of any legal powers, he is “continuing to work very closely with Minister Burke and Minister Darragh O'Brien within my departments, and I continue to engage with various stakeholders on all the relevant issues. With the committee now operational, I expect the delegated functions to be approved by the Government very shortly.”
