The statistics, released today (Monday, May 26), show a sharp rise from those reported just six days previously.

In total, 25 patients are waiting to be seen, eleven more than the May 20 figures.
Of the reported cases, 19 of those are in wards outside of the Emergency Department, waiting to be seen, representing nearly 15 per cent of the national total.
The rise of eight from six days prior means the Castlebar facility also holds the second highest number of patients in this regard, trailing only University Hospital Limerick.
The number of people waiting to be seen in the Emergency Department has also risen from three to six.
Overall, Mayo has jumped three places in terms of the highest number of total patients waiting for beds. On May 20, MUH was in joint seventh with Saint James’s Hospital and Tipperary University Hospital. Now, it is out on its own in fifth.
