The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) President, Declan Madden, will be among the many renowned faces in attendance as Castlebar Rugby Club celebrate their 140-year anniversary early next month.
The staple of Castlebar sport, founded in 1885, will come together to commemorate the foundation of the club on Saturday, May 3.

Now, with just over two weeks to go until the event, the club are dotting the Is a crossing the Ts on a monumental occasion.
The event will begin in earnest at 1 pm on the day, with President Madden cutting the ribbon on the new spectators’ stand.
Following the opening of the stand, the venue will host the IRFU Junior Men’s Interprovincial Series clash between Connacht and Ulster at 2.30 pm.
The day of festivities will be crowned off by an evening meal beginning at 8 pm, followed by the club’s awards ceremony in Cloondeash.
