The Women's Mini Marathon is set to return to Castlebar this May
Mayo County Council will close a number of roads in Castlebar on May 4 to facilitate the running of the 2025 Women’s Mini Marathon.
Anyone wishing to object to the road closures must submit their objections in writing to David Mellett, Head of Castlebar Municipal District, Arás an Chontae, The Mall, Castlebar, Co Mayo, before 4 pm on April 23.

The 2024 edition of the event, which took place in Ballina, was a resounding success, with 1,900 women and 800 children running on the day. 2025 marks a return of the event to the county town, which hosted the event from its foundation until 2022.
The following streets are set to be closed:
The Mall (9.30 am - 4 pm)
Ellison Street (9.30 am - 3 pm)
Lower Spencer Street (10.30 am - 12.30 pm)
Duke Street (12 midday - 1 pm)
Newport Road to Pound Road (12 midday - 1 pm)
Pound Road (12 midday - 1 pm)
Gallows Hill (12 midday - 1 pm)
Newline (12 midday - 1 pm)
Pontoon Road to Ballinvalla (12 midday - 2 pm)
Ballinvala Road - Ballinvala to Mountgregory (12 midday - 2.30 pm)
Mountgregory/Turlough Road (12 midday - 2.30 pm)
Staball Hill/Thomas Street (12.15 pm - 2.30 pm)
Bridge Street (12.15 pm - 2.30 pm)
Main Street (12.15 pm - 2.30 pm)
