Enda Kenny delivers his three seat promise to the Mayo electorate
FG achieve three seats

THE early morning tallies proved correct almost 16 hours later. Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny always believed there were three seats available to his party in his home constituency but few would thought that the party leader, Michael Ring and John O’Mahony would be the only candidates to reach the quota, resulting in the trio been the first three candidates elected. Fianna Fáil only representative in the 30th Dáil will be Dara Calleary as sitting TD John Carty narrowly lost out while the ever resourceful Beverley Flynn made light of her independence status to take the final seat. Earlier in the day, the other independent candidate in the field, Jerry Cowley, saw his vote plummet, resulting in the loss of his Dáil seat after one term in office.
