Warning issued for Mayo bathing waters following rainfall forecast

Mayo County Council says Shore Road bathing area in North Mayo has been placed under precautionary notice pending water quality testing
Mayo County Council has issued a Prior Warning Notice for the bathing waters at Shore Road, Belmullet, following forecasts of significant rainfall and the potential impact on water quality.
The precautionary notice was put in place on Tuesday, June 2, as a result of concerns that heavy rainfall could affect bathing water standards in the area.
Water samples will be taken and analysed, with a further update to be provided once test results become available.
The notice has been issued due to the forecast weather conditions and the possible impact on bathing water quality.
The council is advising members of the public to be aware of the warning and to monitor updates regarding the status of the bathing waters over the coming days.
Further information will be released once sampling has been completed and results have been assessed.
