Traffic impacted as burst water main causes supply issues in Mayo town

Irish Water has confirmed the issue in Tallagh and Belmullet Town

Irish Water has informed Mayo customers that supply issues have arisen as a result of burst water mains in Belmullet.

The issue, which reared its head earlier today (Tuesday, February 10), is leading to low pressure in the region.

Customers in Belmullet Town and Tallagh are the worst affected.

Due to the burst pipe, traffic management will be in place at Tallagh Crossroads on the L-1201 as crews work to isolate and repair the issue.

“This will be a complex repair which may require temporary water outages or reductions in pressure over the course of the day,” stated Water Network Operations Manager, Colette Scahill.

“We acknowledge the disruption caused by unplanned outages, and we thank impacted customers for their patience as we work to resolve the issue.”

As of yet, no estimated repair time has been stated.
