Cannabis plants seized as part garda raid of properties in north Mayo
A MAN was arrested and charged with drug offences after 26 cannabis plants were discovered in grow houses in north Mayo on Friday.
Members of the Mayo Roscommon Longford Drugs unit raided two residential properties in a rural part of north Mayo between Crossmolina and Bangor Erris on Friday, January 16. They were assisted by colleagues from the Mayo North Community Engagement Area, attached to Belmullet, Bangor Erris and Crossmolina Garda Stations.

During the course of the search 26 cannabis plants with a potential street value of between €25,000 and €30,000 were discovered along with equipment used in the growing of the plants. This equipment was subsequently dismantled and rendered inoperable.
One male was arrested at the scene and taken to Belmullet Garda Station where he was questioned and subsequently charged. He is due to appear in court in February on drug charges.
