The McDonagh family from Geesala are in Quarter Final action with coach Davie Fitzgerald on the RTÉ series Ireland's Fittest Family.
This weekend will see the Quarter Finals of Ireland’s Fittest Family taking place in the wilds of Hell and Back, Kilruddery Co Wicklow. In the last eight are the McDonagh family from Geesala in Mayo.
Under the guidance of Hurling legend Davy Fitzgerald, the McDonagh family consisting of father Pat and his three children Leah, Matthew and Daniel will be on television screens this Sunday. With a place in the last four of the competition up for grabs, the McDonagh’s will be sure to remain competitive.
This year the competition returns to The Bog but instead of a time trial, the families will be racing each other in the Battle of the Bog. Two members of each family have to battle against the other families through the sticky course before releasing the other two family members to do the same.
Next they must take on a brand new Time Trial called Monkey madness which is an unrelenting obstacle course which culminates in a series of punishing monkey bars.
With the scores of the first two events combined, the highest-scoring family will go through to the next round, and the two families at the bottom have to face off in our Eliminator for another spot in the Semi Finals.
You can watch the McDonagh family on Ireland’s Fittest Family this Sunday evening on RTÉ One.
