North Mayo barber takes on a unique challenge for charity

A barber shop in Ballina is hosting a unique charity event over a 24-hour period.

Kev’s Kutz, located on Market Square in Ballina, is giving non-stop haircuts for the next 24 hours to raise money for charity.

Kevin Walsh, owner of Kev’s Kutz, began the marathon yesterday (March 15) at 6pm and will continue until today (March 16) at 6pm.

All funds generated from the marathon will go to Ballina Sensory Park, a community-led sensory space located at Tom Ruane Park.

Alongside the 24-hour non-stop haircut challenge, Kevin will also host a raffle for a year's worth of free haircuts.

Kevin is also setting his sights on breaking a national record for the longest shift cutting hair.
