Ballina student speaks at Leinster House on boosting youth political participation

Ballina student David Newcombe was welcomed today, Wednesday (February 18), to Leinster House, outlining his vision for AWAKEN IRELAND. 

AWAKEN IRELAND is a youth-led, non-partisan civic movement dedicated to encouraging greater political awareness, critical thinking, and participation among the 16 to 30-year-old age group. 

Minister Dara Calleary expressed his thanks to his Oireachtas colleagues for taking the time to attend and to David for ‘a very informative and impressive presentation’.

Deputy Calleary added: "David is a credit to his family, town and former secondary school St Muredach's College - well done and best wishes with your endeavours which I am happy to support."
