Ballina Christmas Market is set to return this Christmas between December 12 to 14. The Christmas markets, organised by the volunteer group “Let There Be Light” Committee, will host stalls of local crafts, food, as well as music.
Working alongside Mayo County Council and local community groups, the committee has ambitious plans for a market bigger, brighter, and more festive than ever before.
To ensure the success of the event, the committee is putting out a call for volunteer electricians and junior electricians to lend a hand for three hours this coming Sunday, October 5. Those available to assist should contact the organisers via their social media channels. @ChristmasBallina.
Mairéad Melody, Manager of Mayo North Tourism, says she cannot emphasise enough how important it is for a town of Ballina’s size to host a Christmas market.
“It brings life, tourists, and business to the town. The committee is doing amazing work behind the scenes to make this possible, and I would encourage people to support their efforts in any way they can."
The Ballina Christmas Market will feature a range of stalls celebrating local talent. Arts and crafts retailers will offer handcrafted gifts, art, and unique items, while food retail stalls will showcase quality products for off-site enjoyment. Catering stalls will provide hot and cold food for visitors to enjoy on-site.
Businesses and local producers interested in participating are invited to register their interest by emailing ballinalights@gmail.com.
