The Electric Picnic is set to grow in size this year as promoters seek permission for an additional 5,000 daily attendees to the Laois venue.
EP Republic Ltd announced its intention to apply to Laois County Council for an outdoor music event licence for the Stradbally event from Thursday, August 28 to Sunday, August 31 in the next two weeks. The promoter anticipates a daily attendance of 80,000 people, up from 75,000 per day in 2024.
They are also seeking permission for early entry camping for 40,000 people, an increase of 15,000 on the figure from 2024. EP Republic is looking for permission to open campervan grounds from Wednesday, August 27 at midday.

“The event will comprise of live entertainment performances to be held on the lands at Stradbally Hall Estate, Stradbally. Co Laois on Thursday 28th August, Friday 29th August, Saturday 30th August and Sunday 31st August - 2025,” the notice states.
“General camping and car parking will be provided on adjoining lands from Friday 29th August at 07:00hrs to Mon-day 1st September at 16:00hrs. General - Campervan will be open from Wednesday 27th August at 12:00hrs to Monday 1st September at 16:00hrs. Family Campervan will be open from Thursday 28th August at 14:00hrs to Monday 1st September at 16:00hrs. Early Entry camping will be open for up to a maximum of 40,000 people from Thursday 28th August at 14:00hrs to Monday 1st September at 16:00hrs,” the notice states.
EP Republic Ltd said the anticipated audience attending the event is 80,000 people each day. The application for the licence can be inspected at the offices of Laois County Council during office hours or online at www.laois.ie for a period of five weeks from the date the application is lodged with Laois County Council.
