Connacht head coach Lancaster on western awakening during Mayo visit

Ahead of their United Rugby Championship opener, Stuart Lancaster's new side touched down in Carrowholly, the home of Westport RFC

Stuart Lancaster and Connacht Rugby are raring to go, and looked in great spirits ahead of the 2025-26 season when they touched down in Mayo.

The men from the West spent the last few days in Westport as they fine-tuned their plans ahead of the visit of Benetton to the Dexcom Stadium next weekend in the URC.

New head coach Lancaster was also in good spirits as he spoke of a newfound sense of defiance in his squad when he talked to The Mayo News Head of Sport, Michael Gallagher.

Michael also caught up with Ballina man Harry West ahead of his first professional season with the province.
