WATCH: They're throwing wellies down at the Ploughing but it's for a great reason

Laois suicide prevention centre to benefit from fun event at Portwest stand

National Ploughing Championships visitors can win prizes with the furthest welly throw this week... but it's tricky!

At the PortWest Welly Throw, donations to SOSAD Ireland suicide prevention charity, who have a free counselling centre in Portlaoise. MC with the banter is Christy Bannon while PortWest National Sales manager is Martin Foran from Ballycarroll. 

"We have done the welly throw for 20 years now at the Ploughing Championships for charities. We are happy to again sponsor SOSAD Ireland for the second year, it's a great cause, mental health is a big issue for all ages.

"We invite everyone to come along and enjoy the craic and give a few bob to SOSAD," he said. 

The welly throwing is at Row 20, stand 514.
