'He stepped up when we needed him most' - Crossmolina captain praises Conor Loftus

Mikie Loftus sends emotional message after winning the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship against Ballinderry in Croke Park

An emotional moment of Mayo Gaelic football history. Crossmolina's penalty hero Conor Loftus wasn't there in person, but everyone at the homecoming was thinking about him.

Earlier that day, the Deel Rovers clinched the All-Ireland Intermediate Football Championship in the most dramatic fashion possible. Against Ballinderry in Croke Park, with the clock deep in the red Loftus stepped up to score the game winning penalty with basically the last kick of the ball.
