Mayo GAA star delighted with appointment to new high-level role

The All-Star will be hoping to lend his expertise to the job in the coming weeks and months
It has been confirmed that Mayo GAA star Paddy Durcan is set to take up a new job in a financial firm.
Durcan, who is part of Andy Moran’s side as they gear up for the upcoming All-Ireland semi-final against Louth, has been appointed as a Senior Financial Planner for SYS Financial.
The company, founded in 2015, is an award-winning financial advisory firm headquartered in Tipperary, with offices in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick, providing financial solutions for employers and private wealth clients.
All-Star Durcan will look to lend his seven years of experience as a Qualified Financial Adviser to the firm, having held the role of Wealth Manager in Bank of Ireland up until recently.
The Castlebar Mitchels clubman also holds a Master of Sport and Exercise Psychology from Ulster University as well as a Bachelor of Business Studies from DCU.
“I am delighted to be joining SYS Financial and its wonderful team of experienced professionals,” Durcan stated. “I am certainly looking forward to working with our clients and helping them make good financial decisions for their futures.”
“Paddy’s appointment is a testament to the excellent level of talent and expertise we are able to attract at SYS Financial,” company CEO Tony Delaney said.
“He is a qualified financial planner with an extensive background in wealth management and very strong experience in retirement planning. His combination of discipline and pursuit of excellence will be of real benefit to our clients when planning for their financial futures.”
Durcan is not the only familiar face from the Gaelic games landscape who joined the firm in recent times.
Tom Morrissey, the five-time All-Ireland hurling champion with Limerick and current member of John Kiely’s panel, was hired for the same role.
