Mayo family celebrate All Ireland victory in rural Sri Lanka

The Cunningham family decided to book a family holiday after Mayo lost to Roscommon.
July 26 was a very special day for Mayo people all over the world as Andy Moran’s men secured glory as Mayo defeated Kerry in Croke Park.
One Mayo family decided to book a holiday after the Roscommon defeat in the Connacht Championship. The Cunningham family from Swinford are passionate Mayo supporters. All seven of them including three who live in the U.K jetted off abroad for a family break.
The Cunningham’s decided this year they’d go to Sri Lanka and after the Roscommon defeat, none of them genuinely believed that Mayo would reach the All Ireland Final, nevermind win it!
The family of seven were staying in a remote area called Sigiriya and with a limited internet connection, they somehow managed to watch the game.
With great excitement, the family were over the moon with excitement as Mayo pulled off the upset and claimed their first Sam Maguire since 1951. The locals in Sri Lanka didn't know what to think, but one thing for sure, there were great celebrations in Sigiriya.
