'Dog days are over': WATCH Mayo All-Ireland winners dance and sing at the Ballyhaunis homecoming
‘I burst out crying,’ said Ballina man Dara Calleary when asked about the Mayo team’s All-Ireland win
AT AN EMOTIONAL homecoming in Ballyhaunis, the Mayo team serenaded thousands of supporters with joyful songs and dance.
A hoarse Jack Coyne sang ‘Joxer Goes To Stuttgart’, while Tommy ‘Goals’ Conroy gave an enthusiastic rendition of ‘The Dog Days are Over’.
The Mayo team jumped and whooped to the Proclaimers’ ‘I’m gonna be (500 miles)’, and ‘We are the Champions’ by Queen.
Ryan O’Donoghue raised the Sam Maguire cup high into the air while dancing to ‘The best’ by Tina Turner - which is no easy feat with a heavy trophy.
