Work underway on new passenger shelter at Manulla Junction

Irish Rail confirms base works have begun, with the project scheduled for completion by October 3
Work is now underway on the new passenger shelter at Manulla Junction, with Irish Rail confirming that the project is scheduled to be completed by October 3.
Mayo Senator Mark Duffy issued the update following confirmation from Irish Rail that the base works for the new shelter are currently underway ahead of its installation.
“Irish Rail have confirmed to me that the base works are currently underway in advance of the installation of the new shelter. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the 3rd October,” Senator Duffy said.
The new shelter will be an island platform design, with accessible entrances at both the north and south ends, allowing passengers to access it from either side of the platform.
The shelter will measure approximately 4.6 metres in length and 1.6 metres in width.
The project is intended to provide improved shelter and accessibility for passengers using Manulla Junction, which serves as an important interchange for rail passengers travelling to and from Mayo.
The confirmation that the base works have commenced means the project has now moved into its construction phase, with the October 3 completion date set out by Irish Rail.
