Mervyn Bourke's ewe pictured with its sixth crop of quadruplets in as many years.
A Mayo ewe has achieved the remarkable feat of delivering six sets of quadruplets in as many years.
The ewe, which is from an Aughagower farm just outside of Westport, has now produced 24 lambs in six years.
Mervyn Bourke's farm first produced a crop of quadruplets in March of 2021. Now, in 2026, she shows no sign of stopping.
The ewe, unsurprisingly, possesses the record birth rate for Ann and Mervyn Bourke's flock. The pair hopes that she will have many more plentiful Springs.
In 2025, the couple reared two of the four lambs by hand, and intend to do the same this year.
