Councillor for the Westport/Belmullet Municipal District Brendan Mulroy has been announced as a Peace Commissioner for County Mayo.
The Westport based councillor confirmed the news on his social media page as he revealed “I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as a Peace Commissioner for Mayo by Minister Niall Collins , as prescribed under Section 88 of the Courts of Justice Act 1924.”
Mulroy concluded by saying “Over the past number of years through my involvement in community work I have often been approached by members of the public requesting assistance with official documents. I look forward to continuing to serve the people of West Mayo and Mayo into the future. This appointment will allow me to provide a better service for the people of Mayo.”
