The event is a regular part of festivities both within the town and beyond, with people flocking to celebrate the holiday season in style.
Now, the Council have signalled their plans to accommodate the event.
On Sunday, December 7, the Carrowbaun Road (L1401) will be closed.
The 70-metre stretch of the route will be closed to commuters from 2 pm to 8 pm for a total of six hours.
For the duration of the event, the Westport Road (N59), Castlebar Road (R311), and the L433 Carricknakeady and Clooneshill road will be used as Diversion routes.
Any objections must be sent to the following address (Seamus Ó’Mongáin, Head of Municipal District, Mayo County Council Civic Offices, Westport) by 4 pm on Thursday, November 13.
