Westport is set to host a fundraising music day in aid of the Christina Noble Children's Foundation this Saturday, September 6. The event will start with music from Sean Loughran from 1.30pm in MacBride’s Bar on Bridge Street, followed by Kian Chanter as well Sean and Conan at 3pm at Hewetson's Bar, also on Bridge Street. The evening will see Matt Rowley and Dave O’Regan at McGing’s on High Street from 6.30pm and finishing with Cronin (pictured below) and Ciaran O'Malley from 8.30pm at The Clock Tavern.
The Christina Noble Children's Foundation offers vital services and assistance, including healthcare, nutrition, education, vocational training, and protection from exploitation to communities and children in Asia that are at risk. The goal of the foundation is to provide every kid their childhood by giving them the care, education, and protection they require to flourish and end intergenerational poverty cycles.

Co-organiser Pat Donelan says his link with the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation began back in 2014.
Following his discovery of the foundation, Pat began to host an annual fundraiser.
“We decided to run a fundraiser golf day for the charity which has since run every year at Stanmore Golf Club, raising in excess of £20,000 each year for the foundation,” said Pat.
Following his success, Matthew Golden, Pat’s nephew suggested a fundraiser event be held in Westport.
“It entails a lot of organising and hard work. The foundation really appreciates our efforts,” said Matthew, who expressed his excitement about the upcoming musicians this weekend.
“Sean Loughran, is a new up-and-coming musician from Castlebar, but he plays a bit of trad too. Kian Chanter will be performing solo. Sean McGuire, who will play in Heweston’s, was part of a band called the Crooked Trad. We have a great line set up for this weekend.”
Sean McGuire will play in Heweston's on Saturday.
The gigs are free but donations can be made on the day to the Christiania Noble Children's Foundation.
