Dermot Kennedy performed ‘For Island Fires and Family' at a friend's wedding

One of Ireland’s most celebrated singers Dermot Kennedy swapped his usual stage in a stadium for the more intimate arena of a corner of the sacred Saint Croan's Catholic Church in Ballymoe, County Galway. 

He was a groomsman for his friend last weekend and wowed the guests with a stunning performance of his song, ‘For Island Fires and Family.’

After the wedding ceremony, the happy couple celebrated at their wedding reception with friends and family at the Knockranny House Hotel in Westport. 

The couple and their guests continued the celebrations the following day in the Quays Bar in Westport. 

“Honestly, Dermot couldn't have been sounder to the people in the bar who were asking him for photos. He was pure, chilled out and relaxed,” Kevin 'Kipper' Joyce, proprietor of the Quays Bar, told The Mayo News.
