MINISTER for Finance, Paschal Donohoe will travel to Mayo later this month where he will officially open the constituency office of new Mayo TD Keira Keogh in Westport and attend an appreciation night for Michael Ring.

The new constituency office of Mayo's latest TD Keira Keogh will be located on Castlebar Street, Westport with Minister Donohoe to officially open it on Friday, August 29.

While in Westport, Minister Donohue will attend an appreciation night for his former Government Cabinet colleague, Michael Ring in the Castlecourt Hotel later that evening.

The dinner in the Dome Suite will start at 8pm with many special guests expected to attend to honour Michael Ring who retired from Dáil Éireann after 30 years as a TD and 45 years in politics. Tickets for the dinner will cost €50 per person but tables of ten can be purchased for €450.

The dinner is being organised by the local Fine Gael party with local TD Keira Keogh among those who will be leading the tributes to her distinguished predecessor.

To the surprise of many, Keira Keogh was elected to Dáil Éireann following November's General Election and her election ensured that Westport continued to have a TD.

Since her election, she has been without a permanent constituency office but a vacant building on Castlebar Street, where Munroes Pizzas operated out of before it closed, was identified and has been undergoing refurbishment works for the last number of weeks.

The official opening will take place at 4.30pm sharp on Friday, August 29 with the public invited to attend the opening.

Since she was elected, Deputy Keogh has been appointed Chair of the Select Committee on Children and Equality by Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Harris in recognition of her long-standing commitment to advancing the rights and welfare of children, young people, and marginalised communities across Ireland.

Deputy Keogh will host her clinics in her new constituency office every Monday, bar bank holidays, from September 15 onwards but before that she will be holding clinics in the Ebony Suite in the Plaza Hotel in Westport on August 11 and 25.
