The ‘Double Everest Challenge’, undertaken by Team West, was undertaken in order to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and Functional Neurological Disease Ireland.
In total, 26 people turned out to put their shoulder to the wheel for a worthy cause. Members of Team West include a plethora of elite runners, triathletes, and mountain racers.
The goal of the group was to raise €17,700 euros for their chosen organisations before the closing date of August 7.
They have since absolutely obliterated that target, with the fundraising efforts standing at €21,070 at the time of writing.
