Delays expected as Mayo roadworks set to continue into next week

Roadworks on a 1.1-kilometre stretch of Mayo road will not be completed until early next week, according to the County Council.

Earlier today (Thursday, July 10), it was confirmed that the L-1809 on the Ballintubber to Killawalla road at Derrynacannana will be closed both tomorrow, Friday, July 11, and on Monday, July 14, from 9am to 4.30pm.

The stretch of road also includes a junction with a local road, which goes over the Aille River.

Traffic management will be in place throughout the closure, with long delays to be expected. The Druminroe West Road, the Killawullaun Road, and the R-330 remain open.

Emergency access to the route, as well as local access, will be accommodated.
