The stretch of road also includes a junction with a local road, which goes over the Aille River.
Traffic management will be in place throughout the closure, with long delays to be expected. The Druminroe West Road, the Killawullaun Road, and the R-330 remain open.
Emergency access to the route, as well as local access, will be accommodated.
