Roadworks on the road between Westport and Murrisk are set to cause delays, with traffic operation in place

Mayo drivers warned of Croagh Patrick route disruption

The R335 in Murrisk serves commuters between Louisburgh and Westport, as well as those travelling to the car park at the base of Croagh Patrick

Mayo commuters are asked to allow extra time on their travels if they are heading through Murrisk tomorrow (Friday, July 4), as roadworks will be taking place in the town.

This afternoon, Mayo County Council warned of the road repairs which will be in place on the R335 from 7.30am to 5pm. Traffic management will be put in place for the duration of the works, but drivers in the area are asked to take into consideration any potential delays as a result.

The road is regularly used by those travelling between Westport and Louisburgh, and also by those heading to the car park at the base of Croagh Patrick in the village of Murrisk.
