Two Mayo students in top ten for global accountancy exam results

Both women recorded the best results in the country in their respective fields, and were awarded at a ceremony in Dublin

Two Mayo students in top ten for global accountancy exam results

Westport's Dearbhla Grealis and Ballina's Siobhan Jordan both scored highly in their Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams

Two Mayo women will be toasting their academic successes following achieving exceptional results in their accountancy exams, which sees them place in the top ten results worldwide.

Siobhan Jordan and Dearbhla Grealis finished in the global top ten in their respective fields in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams.

Siobhan, from Ballina, was to the fore in the Strategic Business Leader exam, where she had the best result in all of Ireland, as well as the ninth globally.

Westport native Dearbhla also recorded a top result, outscoring the rest of Ireland, while also having the tenth-best result around the world.

For context, over 500,000 people worldwide sit ACCA exams, with 8,000 of those studying here in Ireland.

Both Siobhan and Dearbhla headed to Dublin, where their achievements were recognised at a recent awards ceremony.
