A POPULAR Mayo discount store has announced that they will be closing its doors to the public at the end of March.

Ashling's located on Main Street in Newport which is operated by local woman Ashling O'Malley announced on its Facebook page that after 'months of debating' the decision has been taken to close the business.

“Hi everyone, it is with a very heavy heart and months of debating that I have decided to close Ashling's.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who has come through the door. It's been an amazing adventure, and I've met some fantastic people and have made lifelong friends. “We will be open till the end of March , and no doubt there'll be lots of chats in between, still lots of great offers to be had...so call in,” the post read.

Ashling's is a popular discount store in the centre of Newport where you can purchase anything from helium balloons, toys, household items, party accessories, toiletries, cards and lots more.

 

Since announcing she will be closing her business, scores of people left comments lamenting the sad news and stating how much the shop will be missed in Newport.
