Good news for hiking fans in Mayo: The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail walking festival is back. The event will take place on Saturday, May 10.
This is the third year in a row that the walking festival will be a one day event: Going the roughly 20 kilometres from Aghagower to Murrisk.
Prior to that, the walking festival used to be a three day event, going from Balla to Murrisk, which is the entire span of the Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail (approx. 63 km).

The first walking festival was held in 2009.
It will be for charity, as the Mayo Roscommon Hospice will receive all the profits after costs. The funds are specifically towards a new children's hospice in Castlebar which is in the works.
You will need to register for the event here.
