Met Éireann have issued a status yellow wind warning to counties including Mayo.

The county has been forecast for increasingly strong, gusty westerly winds.

Potential impacts include fallen trees and branches, difficult travel conditions, large coastal winds and potentially damaging gusts.

The warning is set to come into effect from tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24 from 5pm until Wednesday, March 25 at midnight.

Those in coastal areas are urged to remain cautious due to the risk of high waves and motorists are being advised to take extra care on the roads.
