It looks like we're in for another few days of warm, humid and wet weather according to Met Éireann's latest forecast.

Unfortunately, the weekend looks set to be a mixed-bag of high temperatures with scattered showers throughout.

Met Éireann has warned that early indications for next weekend show signs that some heavy and thundery downpours may even be on the cards. Although plenty of good spells of sunshine are also forecast for early in the week as well as high and humid temperatures.

The national forecaster has also said that current indications suggest a fresher Atlantic regime will return again by midweek, hopefully bringing an end to the humidity.

Here is how the weather is shaping up for the weekend according to Met Éireann.

Friday night will see rain and breezy conditions move in across Ulster and Connacht. It will be mainly dry elsewhere with cloud building as the night goes on. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees.

On Saturday morning, rain will spread southeastwards from the north which will eventually clear the south coast by the early afternoon. Some sunny spells will follow from the north with only a few scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees.

Saturday night will see an end to the showers and the rest of the night will be mostly dry with just a few mist or fog patches in parts. As cloud creeps in over the southwest later in the night, coastal parts of Munster may see some drizzle by morning. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees.

Sunday will be off to a sunny start in the north and east. Unfortunately, cloud will push up from the southwest during the day and bring with it some patches of rain. Many parts of Leinster will remain dry but will become overcast by the evening. Highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees.
